Some of you may be wondering how Dragonira has a cult. I apologize that I cannot answer this question entirely without spoiling much of the comic.
What I CAN say is that the comic takes place during the Age of Learning, while the cults reside in the Galactic Age - so this information is describing the future.
The cult of Dragonira would appear very much to earthlings as psychotic. They worship destruction and very much like to partake in it, whether it be inflicted on other's or themselves. They however are not stupid about it, for they do serve a pretty serious role in society.
Primarily they can be considered carpenters, artisans, and entertainers. They create because they know that ultimately they'll get to destroy their creations (or the previous generation's work). For this very same reason, they are also the finest demolitions experts you'll find anywhere.
One of the major things that sets this cult apart from the other's is that members do not necessarily need an inherent magical talent to join. They actually can be taught spells and rituals so that they can assist the "naturals" with what they do. This fact alone makes the cult of Dragonira the largest on the planet.
Face- Betrayal
3 scars running parallel to each other, starting at the forehead and going down to cover the left eye. There is a great sadness to receiving this scar for some reason, and it represents depression. A sort of destruction of the self.
Neck - Awakening.
Two carefully cut vertical slits at the nape and collarbone. This ritual brings about the sudden ability to fling fire or lightening
Torso(front)
A rather large gash starting from the bell button upwards. This ritual bring about the ability to heal incredibly minor wounds on themselves.
Back
Kind of a mirror reflection of the torso scar and is often performed at the same time. It brings about an ability kind of like "spidey" sense. You can sense other's of a magical nature around you. You can't distinguish their magic, but you know they've got it. Not incredibly handy on Sivoa, because magic users are everywhere, but this ability is great when trying to form a first opinion.
Removal of Tail - Punishment
This is actually more of a penalty for those members who break the law of the land in a manner threatening to one's life (or actually ceasing one's life).
For those who were born without tail they get a severe lashing until their backsides are little more than bleeding tenderized meat. Member witnesses become even more afraid to break the law because they want to avoid this fate, and the criminals inflicted become terrified almost to the point of insanity.
This is not an immediate punishment. It is more of a choice from a very small list:
1.) Life imprisonment
2.) Removal of tail (incredibly painful and disorienting)
3.) Death Sentence (for mass murderers and the like)
