Art on Sivoa
Dragonmun Studios is one issue away from consolidating the Sivoa story into it's first graphic novel and to celebrate we figured that we would give the vast artistic community on the internet a chance to be a part of this!
We are holding an art contest to feature artworks inspired by Sivoa. All entries will be posted in a special gallery on the website, but only the top ten entries will be fully featured (in color) in the book itself.
In addition to the book being distributed and promoted everywhere Dragonmun Studios comics can be found, this book will also be pitched to the Xeric foundation for approval as well as Diamond Distribution. This means that these books will be looked at by some major companies in the comic world.
Content
All pieces submitted must have something to do with Sivoa. Pieces can feature characters already in existance, or they can be original. All pieces must have some writen information explaining the piece.
Please keep content at a PG-13 rating. All entries submitted will be posted on the website, and we do not want to overly upset anyone who happens upon the page.
- Since we actually have a rather strict deadline for the book itself, all entries will need to be submitted by
June 30th, 2008. Not only will this give us enough time to get the book put together, but this will also allow us to coordinate with the winners afterwards.
The size of the pages we're working with are 7 inches wide by 10.5 inches tall before trimming (after trimming it is 6.625 x 10.25 inches)
All images must be submitted in RGB mode to meet with our printer's requirements. Images submitted in CMYK are subject to color distortion when printed (we know that this is the reverse of what is normal in the print world. it's an equipment thing).
*Note: sculptures and other forms of 3D art must be photographed since we cannot physically put these works into a printed format otherwise.
All entries are to be submitted via email to Heather@dragonmun.com with the subject line "Art on Sivoa Contest".
All entries must contain the following information:
- Full Name of creator(s)
- Active Email Address
- Full Title of Piece
- A description explaining the piece (no less than 1 paragraph)

- Website
Why RGB? I thought print was supposed to be CMYK.
This confused us at first as well, but it is what the printers wants. The end results are breathtaking, so we're not going to question their printing process.
